Making uniques

[:1]I read somehwhere on another forum (I think it was hellgate guru but you cant register there anymore) that you can upgrade normals to uniques... Is this actually possibly? Or did I simply read wrong information?|||I believe that is only possible by using a Hex Editor, I read the same thread. So it isn't possible by any means through actually playing the game.|||Quote:

I posted this in another forum a couple of weeks back. It's a process for changing white items to Unique items. It works a treat and is easy to do. I take no credit for this. I just slightly modified an existing process that somebody else had worked out and had posted a tutorial about.

This is done using HxD Hex Editor but I assume it will work with similar tools.

1.) Start the game as normal and load your character

2.) click on the Station Vendor to open his Merchant Panel

3.) Alt-Tab out of the game and start HxD.

4.) Click on the "Extras" link and select "Open RAM"

5.) Load up the executable (hellgate_sp_dx9.exe or equivalent)

6.) Click on "Search" and select "Replace" and make sure that you select the "Hex-values" option in the "Datatype" field

7.) In the "Search For" field type in 00 00 c0 31 01 00 00 00

8.) In the "Replace With" filed type in 00 00 c0 31 06 00 00 00

9.) Click on "Replace All" and wait for the confirmation message and click on "OK"

10.) Select "File" and then "Save" and then "Yes"

11.) Tab back into the game

12.) Wait a couple of seconds and then click in the Merchant Panel. Any white items will now have the Unique colouring but will retain their original name for now.

13.) Drag these Unique items into your inventory (this costs Palladium).

14. Put each item into the Augmentrix 3000 and click on "Common Property". The item will be changed to a Unique or the nearest available Legendary and will also be renamed accordingly.

NOTE:

This turns all plain scrap pieces into "Uniques" rendering them unusable with Cratfers. To get round this, the next time a Crafter has something that you want; go through the motions mentioned above by completing steps 3 through to 11. You will then be able to use scrap pieces as normal, but for that Crafter in that transaction only. Repeat the process whenever needed.|||Quote:
