Can you kill Sydonei without dying?

I am playing normal right now, as an evoker. Through out the game, may be I have died handful of times (less than 5), then I reach the final boss, Sydonei and died like 10 times right there. I can't imagine playing hardcore and kill him.

That would imply that any HC char ever reached him....

I played the equivalent of a Hardcore character in Guild Wars. She has more than 500 hours of playtime without a single death. But in contrast to HGL you don't just get spiked to death out of the blue from a few Rage Furies there... As long as I don't see a screenie of a HC char beating the game I would say Hardcore mode is more about seeing how far you can get than actually hoping to survive the game.|||A HC player will probably be a bit higher in level then you before trying Sydonai.

I've killed him (her?) easy at level 33 without dieing. So it's more then possible.|||Quote:

Wow, gratz on that! (I guess I stand corrected) |||I'm still level 12 in HCE and IF I've manage to survive somehow till Sydonai maybe I can give him a try

By the way I saw yesterday one Hardcore player, don't know if he was HC or HCE cause I guess both modes are with the same yellow color but that HC player was a Marksman/Engineer and was level 36.

So probably he already killed Sydonai alone or with a party, or maybe he is just grinding at the moment, who knows |||Quote:

The trick lies in the dodging. Don't get close to it. So as a hunter it does become more easy. As an enigneer Sydonai is also very attracted to the drone.|||I believe I managed to kill Syd without dying my first time through on my Evoker. The second time not so lucky..|||My Blademaster died during that match-up, and my teammate (a marksman) suggested I bring along Gyro Stabilizers for any future encounters.

OT: Which reminds me..I hate that Blademasters need so many buffing items (injections, stabilizers, shield boosts, etc.) in order to play effectively. It's getting expensive to keep these items on hand, and the merchant sells only one or two of them in each outpost. Additionally, inventory is often clogged with items for every contingency - and I've been forced to salvage drops I might have liked to transfer to one of my other chars. Despite how schmexeh my Blademaster looks, I may have to stop playing her because I can't afford to keep her. She's worse than a mesmer (who insists on new armor every 2 weeks to stay in fashion).|||Quote:

my lvl 25 b lademaster never used a single one of these things... just keep the life regenerating surge up and you clear entire levels whibout even using a health injector.|||With a BM, I beleive the key is to have your gear with high status defense. Mine is only level 24 but most status defense is close to 1000.
