Who's gonna be playing SP?

[:1]I just started a Marksman this weekend. Got to level 9 (I think?) and to the beginning of act 2. Not sure what kind of build I want yet. I spent a point in Tactical Stance and 2 in Explosive Grenade so far. Otherwise I am investment free. Which builds work best untwinked?|||im playing as well.

i am a marksman at lvl 15 in the middle of Act II.

Im doing a sniper and crit based build.

putting point only into Crit and Sniper Line and 5/10 into Ravager Rounds

SP is really awesome in that you can actually get worth out of the Augm 3000 since you can save off your file and reload it to get the best stuff. My Rifleman gear is pretty nicely setup. And my little XM55 rifle is upgraded 6 times already and is kicking some serious demon-butt.|||I might have to go the sniper route. I was considering it. Let me know how you progress.|||yeah well i mapped Sniper Stance to my right mouse button and it is so easy to just go in and out of sniper when i want to, so the whole limited visibility thing is not a deal at all. and since i can move around its really convenient.

i think what the key is that my gear strategy. I didnt aug anything until i got to Rifleman Armor. Then each piece of armor i am concentrating on 3 or 4 affixes

I go all common attributes since they are cheapest and at this level in the game, getting superb low-level Rifleman gear with really specific Aug's makes me quite impervious to the enemy..

+ Shields (usually get 7-8)

+ Hit Point % (usually get 5-7%)

+ Health Regen (usually get 19-21/min)

and if one of these already comes with the armor, i add in either

+ All Attributes

or

+ Luck

This strategy has allowed me to only have spent attribute points in Stamina (I put 2 per level plus any that I gain from quests). I still have not spent any points in Accu, Strength (duh), and Willpower, so i have like 40 points in reserve if i need it. Most likely i will be able to put ALL of those points into Stamina eventually since my +AAs will take care of my needs for the other attributes.

EDIT: oh and all of this is in Elite mode|||I'm going to be doing SP, probably do a Blademaster again like it was in MP. But Engineer looks mighty good, based on what I've seen from what a friend of mine can do in the game. He tends to lay waste, while I end up usually taking on enemies one at a time. So he levels faster than me usually.|||Well I do try to play some SP. Sometimes I find it hard...hehehe.

I have not really started a build but I think I will go for my RF MM. Never got my other char up into the 30's...had a tendency to die around my 20's and redoing one was not fun..hehe.

What i really need is some way to mule!!! |||Cool. Well i bought the game when it came out, and only played SP. I got to Lvl22 when i started realizing that the Nano Forge was borked and i am such a stat/upgrade nerd that it really turned me off. i figured i would just put it down and wait for the patches and then i got back into Oblivion big-time.

Since the 1.2 patch allows players to immediately start in Elite mode i jumped at that opportunity and its really been fun. I have been doing a ton more research on gear and attributes so I know exactly what i want to do, and the complexity and richness of the content is very addictive. Im a former military guy so I have strictly played Marksman but every other game i play i always favored armor over shields so me going fully on shields is a new thing for me. I counter the high shields with concentrating on maxing out HP to give me a buffer for shield penetration. My calculations show that with the aug strategy im going for, I could be running around with over 2K hp by level 40 or so. We'll see. Seeing your strategy playing out and having to react to it is one of my favorite elements to this game.

Anyways, good luck with your Blademaster. If i didnt play a MM, I'm sure i would be going for swordplay next.|||Engineer does look fun. I have yet to try one. Probably next after I kill my marksman.

I also play Oblivion. It is a great game.

Shayagor, why is SP hard? I started playing games that way. Heck, I played Diablo 2 for a time in SP before I even realized there was Battlenet. I also remember seeing the body of my dead barbarian and not knowing why it was there and just ran by it. LOL! That was way before LOD came out.

The difference is that you can mule on Bnet and use ATMA on SP. I also wish there was a way to mule.

Guys, please post your builds and strategies in here or the Guides section. We need to get a few successful builds in here so others can copy or augment them. It doesn't have to be a guide. Just post your build type, where you spent your stat and skill points and how successful it was, where you ran into trouble and what not.

Thanks|||Hehehe, guess that came out kinda bad. I meant hard in the way that I miss my pets, my double stash/shared stash, SH and hooking up with people. Also...emotes

I got a few builds...but the loss of the inhellgate.de planner has screwed me good. All my builds were bookmarked...hehe. So i guess I'd better do a "pen and paper" build. I'll look around for some of the builds I printed and transcribe them.

I played D2 mostly solo too. I played bnet for a little but but was more a SP kinda guy. HGL was my real first MP game. I played GW but was mostly a solo kinda of guy.

Well, I'll try to get some posts up this weekend.|||Well, i went ahead and layed out my build strategy in the Hunter forum. Check it out and tell me what you think. I dont know what to call it yet, but the "Valkyrie" build sounds nice lol.
