http://www.incgamers.com/Columns/44/...rn-of-hellgate|||Resurrecting the game is good - altering all the design is not! If they are smart they'll keep the original but give players more options i.e. more types within the existing classes. Playing the role of a Samurai templar (?!) might be fun for some but I'll prefer the Knights.
Oh well, little bit is better than nada I guess.|||Altering the game design is something they had to do in order to keep on working with the game. The original code was hard to work with and many suspect foul play from FSS before turning in the tools and stuff.
Making those changes will freshen up the game and trust me...they are worth it. From what I got to try out from the korean version, well the game was a blast!|||Sure - changes had to be made to the original. I won't even mention the coding. But I feel sorry for the development crew at FSS. This happens when you release a game on a tight schedule. Nobody wants a game that has more patches than windows.
But my point is that HBS should keep as much of the original as possible. The storyline and character classes were brilliant IMHO. Some of the NPCs on the other hand could be dropped without question....
This game was one of my all time favorites - even the Beta was great fun!|||Well, they did change the storyline and I can say that it's 100% better. Bosses now made sense, things were linked to each other, npc's had more "life", I loved those changes.
Sadly I have not tested the HG: Resurrection part, but a friend of mine has and he has liked most of the stuff. Since there is going to be an item mall (most likely that NA/EU will have it too) there are some items that give you a "cheating" feeling.
Man, i totally agree with you! I had a ton of fun during alpha and beta..heh, I kinda miss the days when it took like 20 mins to log into HGL alpha :D|||I checked out the Aussie site - the resurrection project is a great idea. I agree with you - most their changes are good indeed. I do believe that the game should be for adult gamers - no kiddie stuff, thank you. I never understood why FSS changed the voices of several NPCs. I really enjoyed "talking" with Holloway :o)|||The revival project is great! I hope Hanbit plans to offer some sort of mod support.|||Quote:

From a personal point of view I owe a lot of thanks to the folks working on the Revival project. When the servers were switched off I tried to play single player Hellgate for a while. I hadn't played my SP character since about 2 weeks following release. I found my MM needing to get to the Tower of London and beat Beast of Abbadon with a crappy green XMS rifle with only 1 of 3 mod slots filled (and that was a +% Phase damage even though the gun did no phase damage). Back then I still thought that the higher the big number on the gun, the better it was.
Then I found the Revival site and downloaded the SP patches that came out, as well as some of the fan made mods. It was brilliant and kept me going until the end of last year. I could not have continued to enjoy the fun of Hellgate London without their help. They're good guys and I really hope they don't get disillusioned by the return of the original game.|||Just looking forward to the game returning. Changes should be expected and I am sure we will enjoy them once we get the chance.|||alright, its been 2 weeks my computer got a virus, but I had it professionally repaired. Logging back on to this site was a nightmare as the site did not recognise my password. Someone changed something really big and it split the forum section from the huge library of general game info. This site worked as an awesome comment and info site when the forums and the info were paired together. Now its like they are not only 2 different sites, but I cant get log in to the info side at all, and a lot of the pages arent showing, and I wrote half of them myself and edited 2000 pages(not joking, look at the transcript records!!) I come back after a week and a half and not only am I locked out, but so isnt every random stranger who google searches the words hellgate london, trying to see this website for help. What happened to the entrance of the info site?
