Ok, just to make sure: this post may contain SPOILERS so, if you've just started on the game, don't read
I was just wondering what kind of easter eggs you may have noticed in the game. The most common one would be Wart's leg, very similar to Wirt's leg in the Diablo series. There are others I've noticed (apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere but I've searched the forums and did not find threads about them ):
A few quests bear the title of Pink Floyd songs (yes, Pink Floyd ) like : us and them, hey you, the wall, shine on (...you crazy diamond). They are english after all and Rick Wright is from London...
The NPC "Beck" talks about 4-3-3 formation and, when you complete his quests, he says "score" or "goal". Obviously referring to football (or soccer ) he also has, more or less, the same haircut Beckham used to have.
Any others?|||The CCTV is watching you or whatever signs in the train stations are my favorite, by far.|||There's a police box inside the multi-storey destroyed building, sometimes, at the bottom of the hole that goes through each storey. Above the door are the words "Strange Box".
Its position inside a building and the words above the door make me think it's a Tardis reference from the television series Dr Who.
Julianne Drew, the medic in... Charing Cross (possibly, can't remember) is clearly a reference to Julie Andrews.|||Indeed it is...
|||In act 3, Tiberius and Stewart are Star Trek allusions. Tiberius adopts the manner of speech of Kirk. Stewart is the last name of the actor who played Picard (Patrick Stewart). Stewart gives a quest where he mentions his artificial heart (Actually, I remember the episode where Q takes Picard back in time to the incident where Picard got stabbed in the heart from behind /Star Trek nerdery).|||It seems that a lot of the characters reference TV or music. For me it's starting to grate. A couple of NPCs where you can go "Oooh that's clever!" to is alright, but when it starts to look like it's the rule and not the exception... |||The Joanne NPC in Charing Cross is quite clearly J.K. Rowling, indicated by her mentions of Dobster (A little fellow that, for some strange reason, loves freedom more than slavery.) and her books about a "boy who left his closet-like prison for a world of magic and adventure".
Oh, and the Julianne Drew one I caught, but seems even more clever with the Sound of Music references.|||I think the multitude could just be with SO many NPC to name (bar the techsmiths known by numbers) it has to be a pain to name them all (bar the "hero " NPC )|||Quote:

Naming is easy. It's giving them a personality of some sort or another that becomes challenging, unless you use existing personalities.|||When inspecting the Rocket mod items, the quotation is one by Joss Whedon, though I guess quotes like that don't quite fit into an 'easter egg' kind of thing. Many things in the game reference popular culture; WoW is like that too, oddly enough, which makes me wonder if some of the developers worked on WoW before moving to FSS (though I know FSS is comprised of Blizzard people, I had thought most switched before than WoW was released). But I wouldn't say these references to popular culture are quite in the realm of easter eggs, simply because they are so common. Usually easter eggs are hard to find and are not immediately obvious.
