You also have in-game chat if you get an xfire account. You can add the username and password in the option menu. Once you have that set up you can use a headset icon to activate in-game chat.
Also you can use xfire (the app) and avoid using the in-game chat. Some people say vent or TS has better quality and the guild I am in uses vent.
