Tower of London.... Just not getting it

I've read ALL the existing threads on this one. I've played it about 100 times and I just cannot get it. No matter what I do, those annoying white fellbores get me every time. I've tried napalm strikes, laser rifles, automatic weapons, flame launchers, etc.

No matter what I do, I cannot hit the big dude at ALL. I LOVE this game, but I'm gonna quit and never finish cuz of this annoying level. Argh....

This is a terrific game, but this one just level seems broken to me.. maybe its me |||I killed Abaddon earlier today...I had trouble hitting him as well. I'm a Marksman, using a Unique Automatic Rifle "The Veteran" Which I have at Attack Power 283.

The level is set up in a square, in the middle is the Tower of London. Around the tower, in each corner, and 2 along the North and South sides of the Tower, are some Turret-style guns (Shrink rays we'll call 'em). Big Bad Abby lumbers around the tower slowly, and tries to step on, kick, and somehow make fire appear underneath you if you get to close. None of that's too dangerous though so long as you don't stand in the fire...Now, you want to run to the Turret Gun nearest to him and when the green talk bubble comes up you click it and the beam of light zaps him until he's out of range. Now you'll want to run to the next closest gun to him and do the same with that one.

Once he's being zapped by two of the shrink rays, he stops and shrinks. Immediately he yells, and I assume his yell is what summons the first Fellbore dude. It's best to kill that first Fellbore ASAP, because he summons more fellbores if you let him sit too long. If you kill the first one that spawns before he can make a floor-portal-pentagrammy-thingy then NO other fellbores should appear.

Once he's dead, you focus on Abby. I couldn't seem to hit him consistently from a distance, so I moved all the way up under him and shot up into his stomach region. I still wasn't hitting every shot like I should have been at that range, but I was at least doing damage. I would definately suggest using either an automatic weapon or a splash damage weapon. Electro-guns, nades, strikes, and snipers will be of no use because he doesn't seem to take damage on his entire body like normal mobs. Eventually the guns shut off and Abby roars loud and starts to grow again, but before he's done he lights a nice big ring of fire around his feet so it's best to run. All in all I think I had to shrink him 6 times before I figured out how to hit him and killed him.

I hope this helps. If not, I'll kill him again tomorrow and see if I can figure it out for you...By the way can you tell me what class/level you are? Obviously I gave a Marksman's view on the fight...So hopefully you're a Marksman...Don't know WHY you'd want to be anything but...

If it doesn't work...Please don't kick me in the specials|||Just find a Guardian to help you. Any competent Guardian should be able to annihilate Abaddon, even with two players in the group.

If you're playing singleplayer then... try what ParkerEdin said. ;)

Or go back and farm some more to get some better gear. |||Thanks ParkerEdin. I did use the turret rays, but I never noticed that you had to kill the first fellbore, and then the others never show up. Thats an AWESOME tip. I'll try it again tomorrow, when I get going.

I am a marksman, yep. Have lots of fancy toys. I too have trouble getting any damage on big abby. Usually, in these games, there's some boss level with some arcane secret.

I guess I should also upgrade my automatic weapons.

Mythor, I'm playing single player. Not much of a multi player dude actually, although this game is interesting enough to try that.

Thanks so much guys. Let you know how it goes.... |||ParkerEdin,

I got through it, thanks for the tip to destroy the fellbores as soon as they show up. That was the secret. Got it done in about 20 minutes this morning. Now back to our regularly scheduled Hellgate |||He is toughest for marksmen because his hit box is not always easy for gunners to find. Engineers have helpers who will hit it, so do summoners. Evokers spells spread out enough to hit easily and templars have little trouble melee hitting him. But marksmen have it the worst against him. Your not the first to complain about having trouble.|||It's weird because for a marksman there's no such thing as a head shot for more damage, because FSS made the entire body of the mob hittable. It doesn't work that way with Abaddon. Maybe because he's partly made of rock?

Anyway, glad I could help! I am also more of a single player type, but I've already started logging on every once in a while to change things up. I like it online, aside from the fact that I seem to get fairly bad lag and every time I enter a zone in a Party with just me (so I can /leave after killing Shulgoth) I can only shoot 3 or 4 mobs before it freezes up and I have to exit and re-log. Otherwise, I've had a great time online as well as offline.

See you around the bend.
