I'm going to put this game down as one of the worst endings ever.
I was SO hyped to see the gate snap shut and humanity realize it could start cleaning up.
And then I get the who Murmer ending. Retarded - unless they plan on actually shutting the gate or having some kind of real victory for humanity in some future content.
But as of now... I'm annoyed at it all. Fun game play over all... horrificly bad let down of an ending.|||It was always a given that we wouldn't defeat all the demons on Earth in the initial release of the game.
As was said so many times before the game was released - it's not just London! The whole world is currently being occupied by demons and who knows how well some places are holding them off.
Even if the London hellgate had been closed there would still be the rest of the world in demonic claws. And if they opened a hellgate once... ;)
That said, pretty much the whole storyline was dull so I wasn't that surprised that the ending was fairly "meh".
I wouldn't expect them to tie everything up in a neat little bow, since that would mean they couldn't go back to the well for sequels. Game developers seem very reluctant to close off that possibility these days. Can't imagine why! ;)|||As long as Murmur shows up again in the future, I'm ok with the ending.(although I play sp only) And D2 LoD didn't have a happy ending either.|||Never mind the obvious open ending of Diablo I....|||Well, technically you DID close the St. Paul's Hellgate, but you only get to see what happens to you. Closing the Hellgate was the point of killing the 5 "Lies", since they were the generals that were keeping the gate open.
